Meet Coach Tina. Tina is married with 3 girls, Avery, Lacey and Scottie. She loves long beach vacations and warm weather. Coach Tina does not like olives, the snow, or rude people. Next time you are at Ardent, please say hi to Coach Tina!

 

How long have you been coaching CrossFit? I’ve been coaching for 4ish years.

Why did you become a coach? I became a coach because I love being a part of peoples journey to improve their lives. Mentally, physically, emotionally. All the things.

How long have you been doing CrossFit? I have been doing CrossFit for  about 6 years.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement?  My favorite movements are the snatch, bar muscle ups and box jump overs. My favorite movement to coach is Jerks. My favorite coaching moment are any with instant gratification.  It sounds bad to say but when you give a cue and it immediately connects with an athlete and they can see and feel immediately improvement, it’s awesome.
What is your advice to new CrossFitters? My advice to new CrossFitters is don’t give up. At the beginning there feels like an overwhelming amount of things to learn, things you feel like you’ll never be able to do.  BUT after a few months, the workouts will be more going and less thinking, you’ll be able to test yourself and push your limits, that is when you see change.
What has been your favorite Ardent moment?
My favorite Ardent memory is Coach Sean getting his first ring muscle up in the open announcement workout.
What’s your biggest CrossFit accomplishment?  My favorite CrossFit accomplishment is having a definitive mental shift. I love being able to get into the pain cave and stay there.  I love that I’m more impressed by what my body can do than what it looks like.  I like looking at movements and weights as a challenge not impossibilities. CrossFit is cool.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of CrossFit?  Outside CrossFit I like to go boating and drink margaritas with my friends.
